Plenty of variety but not all my taste. Some cabinets with numbered items did not list what they were which was annoying. Visited on Weekday Wait time 1 hr+ Reservation recommended No … More

This museum has a wide collection, as it could not be otherwise with the United Kingdom, of elements extracted from other cultures. Beyond that, they honor them and the structure is quite educational. Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No … More

A really cool museum, with an extensive variety of exhibitions. I was particularly impressed with the collection of 19th and 20th century paintings - Pissarro, Manet, Monet, Renoir (just to name a few). There was also a cool special exhibition of two modern artists, and also some very beautiful string instruments. Highly recommend checking it out, even if you only have an hour! It's free!

Only had a short time to enjoy the museum today, but it was enthralling from the first moment I entered, today from the shop/cafe level. First up were very well preserved coins, along with their history.

Great museum with explanatory signage setting the context of the displays. Free entry (donations welcome). Free audio tour via mobile phone. Also a free one hour general tour of the museum (usually starts at 11am). Other tours available. I especially liked the section on money. Displays regularly change. I was so lucky to be able to photograph Sam and Ben's wedding at the Ashmolean in Oxford. The setting it absolute stunning with the wedding taking place in amongst the beautiful art work. The staff were absolutely amazing and were always on hand to help when needed. What a fantastic and quirky venue to get married at. I highly recommend it.

As it is positioned just outside the main town area the museum can be visited without having to enter the busy centre. Furthermore, the park and ride facility from the north has a very convenient stop just a short walk from the museum entrance. The museum is a very pleasant place to visit at anytime having a good café and toilets, however, as the Ashmolean hosts different exhibitions it is worth planning a visit

A great visit if you’re in Oxford. It is free of charge to enter as well! They have spacious lockers, clean toilets, and a shop as well. Museum consists of multiple levels and mainly focuses on the history of the civilization. They have artifacts from around the world. Give yourself at least a couple of hours to visit this place. If you’re very keen, there’s enough things to spend your whole day in it!

Still can't get over that entry is free? The museum is enormous, spanning at least 4 floors including the restaurant. The exhibits are clean, interesting, and the staff are knowledgeable and very kind. The food is somewhat overpriced but the soup was really nice. For a once in a while meal, I'd totally recommend. The museum I'd recommend every day.
