Beautiful local paintings but my highlight was the small but incredible collection of ancient artifacts in the archeological room including the bronze age gold artifacts on loan from the British National Museum Well worth the 6 pounds

I really enjoyed my visit but was a tiny bit disappointed with the art exhibited. The small gift shop had a good variety of postcards, as well as other items. The café was doing a roaring trade & I sat outside in the sunshine with a local beer.

I've given 5 stars because, in spite of arriving during a display change, when a substantially large area was closed, I was still impressed by what I saw. They charged a reduced price for me to go in because of the reduced display and staff were very helpful and chatty. The paintings were better than I imagined, having only seen them in prints or on the internet and the museum collection was fascinating with Roman coins, pottery jugs and other amazing items. I bought a print of my favorite painting, the perfect souvenir of my trip to Cornwall. I highly recommend going to the Penlee Gallery.

Staff were very helpful. Great museum and I loved the cream tea with clotted cream & jam. Also the gardens were coming to life.

The wonderful work of the inspiring Newlyn artists, the changing specialisations each season, a lovely park location, a warm welcome, the lighting within 'cosy' rooms and the above average interior/balcony cafe make it our favourite gallery to make a 160 mile round trip to visit each year.The only mild disappointment is we are unable to take photos there, so here's a photo taken in nearby Marazion which we always visit in tandem with the gallery.

Excellent examples of the work of some Lamorna artists. We were lucky to be given an authorative talk by the director which enhanced the visit. If you are interested in painting you need to check what exhibitions are on. We dropped by at random and found only one Stanhope Forbes on display (not one of his best) and one Elizabeth Forbes (a real gem tho). We had just missed a Stanhope Forbes exhibition tho.
